The Kewaunee Storm basketball team opens its year on the road with a non-conference matchup with Manitowoc Lutheran.

The Storm is coming off a 17-7 season and a second-place finish in the Packerland Conference. A 69-62 loss to Crivitz ended their year in the WIAA Regional Final. The team will have to lean on unanimous first-team all-Packerland Conference selection Thomas Stangel even more this year after he averaged 17.1 points last season. The departures of Cal Ihlenfeldt and Sawyer Pribek take away the Storm's other top scorers and their leaders in rebounds and assists.

Manitowoc Lutheran stomped on Two Rivers 81-53 in its opener, thanks to 14 points from Will Franzen and Jaymen Ott and 11 points from Noah Lukasek and Wesley Hecker.

The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
