Kewaunee, Darlington battle for state berth on 104.1 WRLU

A trip to Madison is on the line Friday night when Kewaunee and Darlington meet in DeForest in the state semi-finals of the WIAA Division 6 Football Playoffs.

The Storm cruised to Level 4 with a 30-0 win over St. Mary's Springs last week. Owen Carlson proved why he was the Packerland Conference's Offensive Player of the Year, rushing for 252 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries. The defense has also remained stout, allowing just seven points during the team's three-game playoff run. This is the second straight year the Storm finds itself one win away from a state title game berth.

The Redbirds come into the contest with just one loss on the year, which came against Prairie du Chien on August 25th. After winning its opening round game 49-14 over Belleville, it has won two close games against Mineral Point (7-0) and Lancaster (28-22). This is the Redbirds' third straight appearance in the state semifinals.

Henry Annen and Reece Robillard will have the call on 104.1 WRLU and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the kickoff at 7 p.m.
