Kewaunee rolls Blue Devils, set for Rockets on 104.1 WRLU

The playoffs began like how the regular season went for the Kewaunee Storm, as they took care of business against Packerland foe Oconto, 42-0 on 104.1 WRLU Friday Night. The game began with a Kewaunee interception on their first offensive play, but that would be their only blunder on their way to a monstrous victory over the Blue Devils. DJ Echols would begin the scoring for the Storm with a four-yard touchdown, making the game 6-0.

Maddix Mueller had a strong imprint on this level one game, returning a punt 70 yards to the house to keep Kewaunee rolling. Owen Carlson, who is in the running for Packerland Conference Player of the Year, had two touchdowns on the night, one from 17 yards out and the other from 47 yards, and just like that, the Storm were cruising into level two.

Thomas Stangel decided to keep one himself to give Kewaunee a 28-0 lead, and the defense for the Storm continued their regular season success, pitching a shutout and proving their top-seed status.

After another Maddix Mueller score, the game would eventually go final, with the Storm finishing the Blue Devils season with a 42-0 win.

Kewaunee is set to face #4 Cedar-Grove Belgium after the Rockets defeated Waterloo 28-13 to set up the level two matchup.
