The Kewaunee Storm will see what they have with new players in different spots when they travel to Kiel to open their 2023 season.

 

The Storm were one win away from playing in Madison when they lost to Aquinas 44-19 in the de facto state semifinal. The Storm will have to replace a number of seniors from that squad, including All-Conference and All-Region performer Mitchell Thompson.

 

The Raiders went 6-5 last season, including two losses to the Storm. They entered the playoffs on a four game winning streak.

 

The two teams played in a classic last year that saw the Storm escape with a 28-21 home win. Then-junior running back Owen Carlson had 76 yards on 11 carries in the win. They also played in Level 2 of the playoffs with the Storm also taking the encore by a score of 27-13.

 

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Friday.
