Kewaunee storms past Peshtigo to outright Packerland title

The Kewaunee Storm left no doubt who the Packerland Conference champions were, blowing past the Peshtigo Bulldogs on the baseball diamond in 14-0 and 7-1 routs.

In game one, Cal Ihlenfeldt held the Bulldogs to just three hits while striking out eight across five innings. Ihlenfeldt was great at the plate as well, going 3-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Caleb Schaller also registered two doubles while driving in three runs while Thomas Stangel collected four RBI going 1-3 with a triple. Four others drove in at least one run.

In game two, the Storm blew the game open late with a tally in the fifth and three runs in the sixth after leading 3-1 after three innings. Payton Kohnle and Owen Carlson each drove in two runs, with the latter doing so on a home run in the sixth inning. Ihlenfeldt, Schaller, and Ethan Paplham each drove in one run. Bryce Heroux's RBI single in the third was the lone blemish on the pitching staff for the Storm. Schaller went the distance, allowing just the one run on three hits while striking out 10 Bulldogs in the process.

The Storm return to action on Saturday when they host Reedsville at 11 a.m. The Panthers are 6-10 on the year and have lost three in a row since beating Hilbert/Stockbridge on May 5th.
