Kewaunee softball plays final tune-up against Wrightstown

The Kewaunee Storm softball team will play one more tune-up game against the Wrightstown Tigers on Thursday before they take on the Southern Door Eagles in the playoffs.

Kewaunee was recently swept in their War on the Shore series with the Algoma Wolves when they lost 5-4 and 17-3 to their rivals. Those losses brought the Storm’s overall record to 10-11 and 8-8 in the Packerland Conference. One last tune up will be needed for Kewaunee, who have been losers of five straight games including an 8-6 loss to Southern Door, their round one opponent.

Wrightstown has done a complete three-sixty on their season, moving their record to 10-12. After starting the year 1-10, the Tigers rattled off seven straight wins in the middle of the year to save their season and earn them a five seed in the top half of the Division 3 Sectional 2 bracket. The Tigers will look to add one more win to the column before they begin their trip through the playoffs next Tuesday.

First pitch from Kewaunee is set for 4:00 p.m.
