Storm baseball can't keep up with Vikings

The Denmark Vikings showed the Kewaunee Storm why they are the defending champions, outscoring their hosts 10-1 after the first inning en route to a 13-4 victory.

The Storm and the Vikings exchanged three-run innings in the game's first stanza with Owen Carlson hitting a home run and Sawyer Pribek tying the game on a two-run single. The Storm would not score again until a Cal Ihlenfeldt homer in the fifth inning when they were down 7-3. The Vikings would answer that call with five runs in the sixth inning and a single tally in the seventh.

The Vikings as a whole had 14 hits with four players with multi-hit days. Izaac Dittmer went 3-5 with four RBI while Rheis Johnson was a perfect 4-4 with two RBI.

Pribek took the loss for the Storm, allowing six runs on six hits across three innings. All four pitchers used by the Storm gave up at least one earned run.

The Storm will be back in action on Saturday when they play Gibraltar at Fox Cities Stadium. Tim Kowols and Jacob Nate will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 4:15 p.m. followed by the first pitch at approximately 4:30 p.m. depending on the length of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers/South Bend Cubs matchup.
