Storm softball set for test facing Eagles

Looking to bounce back from a tough doubleheader at the hands of the Sevastopol Pioneers, the Kewaunee Storm softball team will take on the Southern Door Eagles Friday afternoon.

After falling to those Pioneers 12-2 and 7-2, Kewaunee has lost three of their last five games, after starting their season on a 5-1 note. At 7-4, the Storm sit fourth in the Packerland Conference, just a game behind the Eagles of Southern Door, who they could pass Friday night. Kewaunee lost to Southern Door in both games last season, losing 10-3 and 7-6.

The Eagles are coming off of a sweep of the Sturgeon Bay Clippers on Tuesday by scores of 11-0 and 17-2. At 9-4 overall and 6-4 in the Packerland Conference, the Eagles are just one win in conference play away from matching their total from last season. Southern Door has scored the most runs of any team in the conference, scoring 115 runs over their 10 conference games.

The first pitch from Kewaunee of game one of the doubleheader is set for 4:00 p.m.
