Packerland baseball battle features Storm and Eagles

The top two teams in the Packerland Conference will face off on Friday as the Kewaunee Storm are set to host the Southern Door Eagles in a showdown.

The Storm enters the doubleheader with Southern Door at 13-2 overall and 10-0 in the Packerland Conference. Kewaunee is riding an eight game winning streak going into the matchup, and have won 13 out of their last 14 games. The Storm may have the hardest part of their schedule this season coming up, with two doubleheaders against Southern Door and Gibraltar, and then taking on reigning state champions Denmark on Monday.

Southern Door has taken just one loss on the season, falling to St. Mary’s Catholic. The Eagles are 9-1 overall and 8-0 in the Packerland Conference, looking to take over the lead of the Packerland. Southern Door will have had six days off since their last game, after their doubleheader on Tuesday against Sturgeon Bay was rescheduled to May 22nd. The two teams have excelled throughout the first two sports seasons, and are set for another strong matchup on the diamond.

First pitch of the doubleheader from Kewaunee is slated for 4:00 p.m.
