Two of the top teams in the Packerland Conference softball standings will collide Friday night in Kewaunee as the Storm and the Sevastopol Pioneers play a doubleheader.
Kewaunee has been elite as of late, as after splitting the weekend series with Oconto, the Storm bounced back to beat Green Bay NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy 10-0 and 12-2 in their doubleheader. After being blown out in the opening game of the season by Chilton, who is now 6-2, the Storm have rolled over teams to a 7-2 record.
Sevastopol’s season has been all over the place, as they enter the doubleheader with a 9-4 overall record and a 5-3 record in conference. The Pioneers took care of the winless Sturgeon Bay Clippers 3-1 and 9-1 on Tuesday, but had lost four straight before that game to Southern Door, Peshtigo and Mishicot. This will be a test for both Kewaunee and Sevastopol, and shake up the standings after Friday.
First pitch from game one is slated for 4:00 p.m.
