Storm baseball drops game against Seymour

The Kewaunee Storm battled but it could not overcome the Seymour Thunder in a 9-6 loss on Thursday.

The Storm found themselves down big early as they gave up eight runs in the first three innings to the visiting Thunder. Caleb Schaller struggled in his season debut as he gave up eight runs (all earned) on just four hits.

The Storm would come back, scoring twice on a two-run double by Cal Ihlenfeldt in the third winning and thrice on a three-run homer by Owen Carlson in the fourth inning.

The Thunder would extend their lead in the seventh when Lucas Leisgang homered to make it 9-5. Carlson walked and was gifted the other bases to score the sixth run for the Storm, but they would get no closer the rest of the afternoon. Thomas Stangel went 2-2 in the game to lead the Storm with hits while Schaller, Ihlenfeldt, and Stangel all struck out three in their performances.
