Storm girls stick around town for Vikings

The Kewaunee Storm girls' basketball team is set for a non-conference tilt Tuesday night when Valders comes to town.

The Storm (1-7) could never get traction against a tough Oconto team last Friday night, falling to the Blue Devils 54-39. Much of the damage was done in the first half, with the Blue Devils taking a 35-20 lead into halftime. Brianna Demmin led the Storm with 11 points, and three others scored at least five points in the loss, The Storm's defense could not keep up with Blue Devils star Addisyn Viestenz, who hit a trio of three-pointers en route to a 20-point night.

The Vikings have gone through their struggles this season, starting the year off with a 3-7 mark. In their last game, Kaitlyn Fischer scored 13 points, and Claire Zipperer added 12 points as they tried to buoy the Vikings in a 61-42 loss to Brillion.

Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
