Brillion Hosts Kewaunee Boys in Early Season Contest

Jeremy Lorenz and the Brillion Lions will host the Kewaunee Storm in an early-season contest. The Storm is coming off a 67-51 win against Luxemburg-Casco. Thomas Stangel was a crucial player in the matchup with 21 points. Brillion’s season will start against Kewaunee. This will be a matchup of last season’s sectional semi-final matchup. Brillion emerged victorious and advanced to the state semi-final. The Lions only lost one senior who only played in eight games. This Brillion team has played a lot of basketball together and will be hard to deal with.

The star of this team is Jeremy Lorenz. The Wofford commit averaged 19.8 points as a junior and 11.5 rebounds last season. Caeden Holly averaged 10.6 points per game last year. And finally, Grady Geiger. He averaged 10.9 points and 5.2 rebounds last season. If any defense focuses on shutting down Lorenz, the rest of the team can beat you.

The Storm was able to have a constant offense against Luxemburg-Casco and had scoring from all starters. Ihlenfeldt scored easily in the matchup, and Kohnle and Stangel were also able to score from the backcourt. The Storm will need an offense like this to match up with the high-powered Brillion Lions.

Tipoff is set for 7:30 at Brillion High School.
