Freedom Travels to Kewaunee for Early Season Contest

After losing to Wrightstown on Tuesday, the Kewaunee Storm will face the Freedom Irish. Freedom ended Wrightstown’s season last year in a neutral site game. The Irish beat the Tigers 56-31. Freedom went on to lose to Waupun at State, 63-42. Kewaunee faces Freedom Friday, November 18, at approximately 7:30 pm.

The Storm will not be at full strength in this early season contest with injuries to key players. One of which is the sophomore guard, Lexie Hanrahan. She is the only returning player that had substantial minutes on the team last year. She is expected to return from her ankle injury within the next two weeks. Another key player to this young Kewaunee team is Jade Kroll. The freshman forward is very versatile. She had a wrist injury and is out for at least another three weeks.

A player for the Storm that needs to perform is Hannah Morton. The junior guard has struggled to get open and score. When Morton is hitting from three, everyone in the gym knows. She and other key players like Gabby Stangel and Brianna Demmin must find ways to score against a team like Freedom.

Freedom did go to state last season but lost most key players. The Storm will need an incredible effort to put a win in the win column this Friday Night.
