Kewaunee High School

Storm look to continue success on hardwood

The Kewaunee Storm are coming off of another successful season last year, winning a share of the Packerland Conference title, sharing it with the Peshtigo Bulldogs.

The Storm went 13-3 in conference play, good enough for that share of the title. Overall, Kewaunee was 18-9, and their season ended in the Sectional Semifinals, as they lost to the Brillion Lions, who made an appearance in the State Tournament. Kewaunee lost their leading scorers, as Ben Heim and Cameron Cullen were seniors last season.

However, Kewaunee will still have a capable offense as key contributors to the team last season will remain on the team this season. Sawyer Pribek and Cal Ihlenfeldt will be big time playmakers and scorers for Kewaunee this season, and Payton Kohnle will most likely find himself running the offense.

The Storm will not get much time to prepare for the basketball season, as the deep run into the season that they made ultimately fell short in a loss to the Aquinas Blugolds.

The first game for the team will be against the Luxemburg-Casco Spartans on the road on November 22nd, and the first Packerland matchup will be December 1st against the Algoma Wolves.
