Kewaunee welcomes Wrightstown in Girls Basketball opener

The Kewaunee Storm girls basketball team will get their season underway Tuesday night, as they play host to the Tigers of Wrightstown.

Kewaunee was the runner ups in the Packerland last season, with an overall record of 17-9 and a conference record of 13-3. The Storm will have to find the production to replace their top six leading scorers of the past season; with Taylor Schleis, Toni Bortilini, Mykenzi Uhlers, Sabrina Ferron, and Kiley Gaedtke all receiving some sort of All-Packerland Conference recognition last year. They will hope that production comes quickly against Wrightstown.

Wrightstown will be a good test for the Storm, as they finished last season at 20-6 overall and lost in the regional finals to the Freedom Irish. However, the Tigers leading scorers from last season all have graduated, as their highest returning scorer averaged 7.6 points per game last season. Two teams that have seen some big turnover will face off in their first game of the season.

The tip is set for 7:30 P.M.
