Storm gets a visit from Kiel on U102.1

The Kewaunee Storm will play host to their week one opponent again as the Kiel Raiders come to town in a regional semifinal matchup in the WIAA playoffs.

The Storm is coming off a beat down of the Sturgeon Bay Clippers last Friday in the first round, as they beat their conference foe 71-6. Most of the damage that Kewaunee made came on the ground, as the Storm ran for 429 yards and six touchdowns, with five different runners finding the endzone. Owen Carlson joined in on the fun as well, as he returned a punt into the endzone for a touchdown after having one called back earlier in the game. Kewaunee will look to stay on the right side of production against Kiel, as they have had a stellar season.

Kiel was a team that gave the Storm some troubles, however, as the Raiders battled with the Storm in week one, falling 28-21 in that game. Kiel is coming off of an upset in round one, as they took down Wittenberg Birnamwood 16-6 in a 3 versus 6 seed matchup. The Raiders got a good game from their Quarterback Connor Faust in that one, as he threw for a touchdown, but also ran the ball 24 times and was able to get in on the ground as well. Their defense works well for them, however, as they held a high-powered Chargers offense to those six points.

Gary Barta and Tim Kowols will have the call from Don Rabas Field on U102.1 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com. The pregame show will begin at 6:45 with kickoff from Kewaunee set for 7:00.
