Kewaunee blitzed by Menasha 55-7 on 102.1 MORE FM

The shorthanded Kewaunee Storm team ran into a Menasha buzzsaw on Friday night in Spring Football on 102.1 More FM and NEW Radio Sports Network.  The Storm fell hard 55-6 at Nathan Calder Field in Menasha.

The Storm came into the game without key starters including running back Jack Severin.  Starting quarterback Mitchell Thompson was forced to leave the game with a leg injury in the first half and the Storm could not seriously challenge the Blue Jays after that.

Kewaunee did manage to score with 3:08 left in the first quarter on a 13-yard pass from Thompson to tight end Aiden DeGrave to get with one point at 7-6, but it was all Menasha from that point on.

Menasha quarterback A.J. Korth threw for five touchdowns and the Devontre Smith scored on a 72-yard kickoff return after the Storm’s lone tally to cruise to the victory.

Kewaunee (2-3) will now play the Lodi Blue Devils at Lodi High School next Saturday  Pregame is set for 12:30 pm with kick-off set for 1 pm.  Tanner Bickford and Paul Schmitt will have the call on 102.1 MORE FM and streamed on NEW Radio Sports Network.
