Kewaunee shutouts Black River Falls on 102.1 MORE FM

Kewaunee Storm dominated the Black River Falls Tigers 35-0 Saturday afternoon in the debut of the Spring Football season on 102.1 More FM and NEW Radio Sports Network.  The game was played at Heartland Farms Field in Amherst which offered a turf field and a central meeting point for both teams.

Kewaunee scored on a 65-yard opening drive with a 4-yard pass from Mitchell Thompson to Jack Severin.   A 33-yard pass from Thompson to Anthony Jerabek put the Storm up 14-0 with 1:54 left in the first quarter.

After both teams traded turnovers late in the second quarter, Kewaunee took command of the game on a two-yard run by Severin with 11 seconds left in the half.  That score put the Storm up 28-0 and they never looked back.

The second half saw the Storm score on an eight-yard pass from Thompson to Adam DeGrave and a two-yard run by Jesse Morales-Hernandez with just over three minutes left in the game.

Kewaunee’s defense dominated the Tiger's offense, who never penetrated the Storm’s red zone.

Kewaunee (1-0) will now play the Menominee Indian Eagles next Thursday night.  Pregame is set for 6:30 pm from Menasha High School with kick-off set for 7 pm.  Matt Piesler and Paul Schmitt will have the call on 102.1 MORE FM and streamed on NEW Radio Sports Network.
