Kewaunee tops Oconto in Monday matinee

The Kewaunee Storm scored early and often in its 65-27 win over Oconto Monday afternoon.

The Storm took advantage of eight made three-pointers and poor free-throw shooting by the Blue Devils to storm out to a 41-17 advantage at the break. They did not take their foot off the pedal in the second half either, allowing the Blue Devils just 10 points after the break. The Blue Devils finished 2-20 from the free-throw line.

Claire Kohnle led all players with 24 points on the afternoon thanks in part to five made three-pointers. Mykenzi Uhlers (13 points) and Kiley Gaedtke (10) each reached double figures for Kewaunee. Lianna Baxter paced the Blue Devils in scoring in the loss. She scored 17 of the team's 27 points.

The Storm will play again Tuesday evening against Sevastopol. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m.
