The Gibraltar High School girls basketball game entered Friday’s contest playing lights out basketball. They had just smothered Sturgeon Bay, 52-24, to pick up their fourth straight win. The undefeated Kewaunee Storm weren’t fazed and led comfortably for nearly the entire game while giving starters like Mackenzie Tlachac extended rests. Kewaunee had a double digit lead early and was able to answer every Gibraltar attempt at a scoring run.
Claire Kohnle had 15 points for Kewaunee with Katie Metzler adding 14 and Ashley Pawlitzky netting 12. Abbigael Sitte scored a game-high 20 for Gibraltar. Kewaunee tips off against Valders Tuesday in nonconference play. Gibraltar can make a bid for third place in the conference if they defeat NEW Lutheran Tuesday.
