Kewaunee High School

Packerland clash lives up to the hype

Tuesday night in Brussels the first and second-place boys basketball teams in the Packerland squared off in what lived up to the hype as a marquee matchup. Kewaunee High School edged Southern Door 44-43. As you can imagine, the box score isn’t the prettiest. Alex Rohr and Tanor Bortolini paced the Storm with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Southern Door star Ryan Claflin was held in check for the most part, netting 21. Alex Daoust added 13.

Kewaunee remains unbeaten while Southern Door picks up its second loss of the year in the conference dropping the Eagles to third place. Kewaunee’s tough week continues at Sturgeon Bay Friday. Again, first place in the conference is on the line as the Clippers only have one loss against the Storm’s unblemished mark. Southern Door will need some help getting to the top of standings but they do have rematches against Sturgeon Bay and Kewaunee later in the year. The Eagles’ next game comes Friday when they host NEW Lutheran.
