Kewaunee High School

Kewaunee football rolls to 7th straight win

Kewaunee High School's football team improved to 7-1 on the year with a 43-8 win over Oconto Friday night. The Storm held the Blue Devils to under 140 yards of total offense. Nearly half of that came on Oconto's only scoring play, a 64-yard touchdown pass with Kewaunee leading 43-0.

The Storm are usually balanced but Friday they favored the pass. Quarterback Ryan Carmichael was 11-17 for 240 yards and three touchdowns against one interception. Max Hanrahan caught a 45-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. Jason Selner had a 45-yard catch of his own in the second that found the end zone. In the fourth quarter it was a 40-yard strike to Benjamin Heim.

Kewaunee led 22-0 at halftime and tacked on three insurance scores in the fourth quarter. Kewaunee and Peshtigo are the only undefeated teams left in the MONLPC Large. Peshtigo won a hard fought contest against Southern Door Friday, 42-27. The Storm and the Bulldogs face off in the regular season's final week for the conference championship at Kewaunee.
