Gibraltar girls volleyball struggled to find its rhythm Tuesday night as Oconto put together a dominant performance, sweeping the Vikings in three sets in Packerland Conference action.

The Blue Devils opened with a 25-17 victory before taking control of the match with back-to-back 25-13 wins to complete the sweep.

Gibraltar had difficulty establishing its offense against Oconto's powerful attack, with struggles in serve receive and defense limiting the Vikings' opportunities at the net.

"Hats off to Oconto. They were pretty unbeatable tonight," Gibraltar head coach Lauren Ward said.

Ward credited the Blue Devils' offensive power while acknowledging that the Vikings struggled to get consistent sets to the net and match Oconto's intensity.

Ema Collak led Gibraltar with six kills, while Ella Clarke added five kills and two blocks.

The loss drops Gibraltar to 14-14 overall and 3-4 in Packerland Conference play.

The Vikings will look to bounce back Thursday, Oct. 15, when they travel to face NEW Lutheran.
