The Gibraltar Vikings volleyball team welcomed the community to its new gym and treated them to a 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-11, 25-19) win over Kewaunee on Thursday.

Leading the way for the Vikings were Ella Clarke (15 kills, 2 blocks), Aileen Torres (9 kills, 1 ace, 12 digs), Azucena Jauregui (5 kills, 4 aces, 14 digs), and Isla Fagundes (37 assists, 12 digs, 4 kills, 3 aces).

Head coach Lauren Ward was complimentary of her team after its first Packerland win of the season while keeping an eye on its next conference match against Algoma. "It was great to watch our team put together a solid defense and a quicker offense against the Storm," Ward said afterwards. "The night was not without some errors, but we were able to maintain an even flow of energy and ride the momentum of the match. Ella Clarke came out swinging hard tonight, and between Fagundes' consistent setting and Azucena's defense, we were able to outlast the night."
