Pitching lights out for Gibraltar baseball Tuesday

The Gibraltar Vikings baseball swept NEW Lutheran in a doubleheader on Tuesday, winning the opener 11-0 before taking the nightcap 4-1.

 

Aaron Brey stole the show in game one, striking out 10 batters over six innings while allowing just one hit and no runs. Brey also went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the offense. Owen Dannhausen, Charlie Reinhardt, Cam Munao, and Wyatt Bultman each drove in two runs. Munao's two-run homer to left highlighted a four-run fourth inning that blew the game open. Gibraltar finished with 11 hits on the day.

 

In game two, Hobbs Emerson dealt five scoreless innings, striking out 10 and surrendered just two hits. Brey stayed hot at the plate, going 3-for-3 with coming in  for the save to close things out.

 

Gibraltar ran wild on the bases, stealing five bags, with Owen Dannhausen and Mason Isaacson each swiping multiple. The Vikings didn't commit an error in the field, with Charlie Reinhardt making 15 putouts. 


The Vikings improve to 11-6 on the season.
