Two big offensive innings and three no-hit innings from Mia Glocke powered the Gibraltar/Washington Island softball team to a 15-0 victory at Sheboygan Lutheran on Thursday.
The Vikings wasted little time taking control, putting their first five batters on base in the opening inning and capping an eight-run frame with an RBI triple by Olivia Pelkey.
It was more of the same in the second inning, when 11 consecutive batters reached base for the Vikings. Patience at the plate fueled the rally, as Gibraltar/Washington Island drew eight of its 10 walks in the inning.
Pelkey and Glocke each finished with two hits and two RBIs, while Ashlyn Lautenbach went 1 for 3 with two RBIs in the win.
Glocke was dominant in the circle, striking out seven over three innings while allowing no hits or walks.
