Peshtigo controlled both games of the softball doubleheader, defeating Gibraltar 16-0 and 23-0 on Tuesday.
In game one, Nevaeh Russell went 3-for-3 to pace the Bulldogs, while Katie Olson and Cameron Finger helped fuel an early outburst. Peshtigo scored in each of the first two innings and pulled away with an eight-run second. Neela Sotka earned the win, allowing just one hit over three shutout innings.
Game two featured an even larger offensive surge, highlighted by Taylor Wortner’s five RBIs and an inside-the-park home run. Russell added four hits and multiple RBIs, while Peshtigo erupted for 12 runs in the third inning alone and finished with 13 total hits. Finger and McKinley Fairchild combined to limit Gibraltar to no hits over three innings of work.
Gibraltar was held without a hit in game two and managed just one hit in game one, with both games featuring clean defense from Peshtigo.
Gibraltar returns to action May 1 at 4:00 p.m. against Sturgeon Bay.
