The Gibraltar baseball team scored at least two runs in four of its seven innings as they beat Hilbert Monday afternoon 10-7 to stretch their winning streak to four.
The Vikings and Wolves traded two-run rallies in the first two innings with Hobbs Emerson delivering a two-run single to start the game. The Vikings would build their lead to 6-2 when Emerson singled in another run ahead of Wolves error in the third inning and Owen Dannhausen doubled in a pair in the fourth inning. They would hold a 7-2 lead before the Wolves tallied three runs in the bottom of the sixth to close the gap. The Vikings responded with three runs of their own in the top of the seventh inning thanks to a pair of Wolves errors and a run-scoring single off the bat of Cam Munao. The Wolves would take advantage of an error in their half of the seventh, but they could only score twice to give the game to the Vikings.
Emerson ended his day going 3-4 with three RBI while Munao (3) and Luke Rericha (2) also had multi-hit games. The offensive hero also got the win on the mound as Emerson allowed five runs (1 ER) on three hits and two walks while striking out five. Aaron Brey went 1-3 with an RBI while also going 3.2 innings on the mound, allowing two runs (2 ER) on two hits and four walks while striking out four.
