Gibraltar baseball returns to action at Coleman on 105.1 The GOAT

The Gibraltar Vikings baseball team looks to find the win column for the first time in a week on Friday when they play at Coleman.

The Vikings started their season on a rough note in Oconto Falls, but followed it up with a doubleheader sweep of Algoma, winning the opener 3-1 before holding off a wild comeback attempt in the nightcap to walk off 10-9. Game one was a pitcher's duel from start to finish with Aaron Brey was equally sharp, going six and two-thirds innings with 14 strikeouts. Gibraltar took the lead for good in the sixth on a two-run single by Owen Dannhausen. In game two, a stunning seven-run seventh inning by Gibraltar erased what looked like a sure Wolves win, capped off by a walk-off single by Cam Munao.

The Cougars have split their first four games of the season, including an 11-1 win over Gillett yesterday (4/16). Wyatt Bieber went 3-3 with two RBI to pace the Cougars while Gavin Pusick had two hits and Miles Lewis and Alex Meyers also knocked in a pair of runs.

Tim Kowols will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT beginning at 3:45 p.m. followed by the first pitch at 4 p.m.
