Gibraltar's early lead unsustainable

Gibraltar/Washington Island baseball jumped ahead 2-0 in the first inning on Friday night against Oconto Falls, but would add just two more runs to their total. Surrendering a trio of 5+ run innings, the game ended by run-rule after four-and-a-half, 18-4.

The Gibraltar/Washington Island pitching staff struggled to find the zone and combined for 15 walks in the game and spread out six strikeouts. On the opposite mound, Brehmer went two and two-thirds allowing three runs, walking four, and striking out four.

Luke Reicha and Hobbs Emerson both tabbed two hits and Reicha crossed home twice for Gibraltar/Washington Island.

Gibraltar/Washington Island will have back-to-back game days taking on Algoma Saturday at 11 am.
