After a scoreless first half, the Sevastopol-Gibraltar co-op girls soccer team punched through the game's lone goal on their way to a 1-0 road victory over Little Chute Tuesday.
On a cold evening that saw a lot of action inside the 18-yard box, Shylee Asher finally struck gold for the girls United team at the halfway point in the second half.
She rebounded and stuck with multiple shots on goal in the possession and dropped the ball in over the head of the Little Chute keeper. The single goal was enough to propel the co-op to victory in their season opener.
Sevastopol-Gibraltar will have more opportunities for scoring this Friday against Green Bay West as they host the Wildcats for a 5 p.m. start.
