Lourdes Academy had four players reach double figures against an injury-riddled Gibraltar squad on Monday as they cruised to an 88-19 win in Oshkosh.
The Vikings had an early lead in the contest thanks to a pair of three-pointers from Emilie Glocke and a basket underneath from Josie Martin. With the Vikings leading 8-3, the Knights went on a 30-0 run over the next six minutes with Aubrey Schettle proving to be lethal from beyond the arc and the Liabwill sister doing their job underneath. The Vikings mustered just four points the rest of the way as they entered the locker room trailing 52-12 at the break.
The Vikings could turn the tide in their favor in the second half as the Knights scored 25 of the first 28 points in the half, with Kylie Rietz leading the attack. Martin and Gabriella Solomon registered the lone shots made from the field as the Knights tightened their defense until the game eventually went to a running clock.
Schettle made six three-pointers en route to a game-high 20 points while Sarah Hafemeister (16 points), Adhieu Liabwill (13 points), and Rietz (11 points) also reached double figures. Martin scored eight points while Glocke added six points and Megan Gallant hit two free throws in their final game as members of the Vikings girls basketball team. Solomon scored three points to cap off her freshman season.
The Vikings end their season 4-21, but left Gibraltar head coach Justin Burress excited for what could be ahead for the program moving forward.
