Another one possession game for Gibraltar

The second day of a back-to-back for the Gibraltar Vikings finished in a one-point loss to Florence Saturday, 60-59.

For the Vikings, it's their second one-possession game in as many days, as their first win came Friday night over Peshtigo 47-45.

Both teams were fighting for momentum going into the final few games of December, but this time, Gibraltar came out on the losing end. This time, it was the Vikings that saw a seven-point lead disappear in the final two minutes. The Vikings had a couple of good looks to retake the lead, but came up short in the end. Head coach Travis Ward felt that the team played flat after its exciting game against Peshtigo. We did a good job scoring inside and controlling the boards, but our offense sputtered in the latter part of the second half," Ward said. "We'll look to get back on track next week."

Kayin Jackson led all scorers with 36 points, with Wyatt Bultman adding 10 and Aaron Brey chipping in eight points in the loss. The Bobcats had three players in double figures, led by Bowen Spears' 24 points and Truth Setner's 19 points.

They'll now have a few days of rest before two games this week, at Two Rivers Tuesday and home Thursday versus Sevastopol. Both games will tip at 7 p.m.
