Free throw line betrays Vikings girls in loss to Bulldogs

The Gibraltar girls' basketball team could not get their offense going against the Peshtigo Bulldogs on Thursday night, falling 69-16.

The Vikings could not cash in on their opportunities to catch up with the clock stopped, making just eight of their 19 free throw attempts. The Bulldogs held the Vikings down in the field as well with Emilie Glocke's three-pointer the only shot made by the Vikings in the second half.

Glocke led the Vikings with seven points and Azucena Jauregui chipped in with four points. The Bulldogs, meanwhile, had four players in double figures with Skylyn Baxter leading the way with 14 points while Mya Boettcher and Jadyn Jashinsky each had 12 points.

The Vikings are back in action on Tuesday when they host Sevastopol. Tim Kowols will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT beginning at 5:45 p.m. followed by the tip-off at 6 p.m.
