After nearly putting up 100 in their opening game, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah continued a strong start two games into the boys basketball season this time downing Gibraltar 76-38.
A big part of the win for the Resorters was a game-high 36 points from sophomore and team leader, Brayden Smith. He cashed in 8 of the teams 14 three-pointers.
Gibraltar didn't go down without a fight as Kayin Jackson stacked 17 with 3 from deep himself. However, the offensive juggernaut of the Resorters was too much to overcome.
Coach Travis Ward called Elkhart Lake's offense a "buzz saw" adding they had "fast actions, quick reads, and accurate passes. On top of that they didn't seem to miss." He noted some struggles of their own, "we struggled to get good looks inside against their zone and weren't knocking down threes consistently. We did a better job defensively in the second half, but still couldn't find a rhythm offensively."
They'll be back in action Thursday against NEW Lutheran.
