Vikings boys open campaign against NEWCHAA on 105. The GOAT

The Gibraltar Vikings boys basketball team will kick-off their 2025-2026 campaign ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday with a Tuesday night matchup against Northeast Wisconsin Christian Homeschoolers Athletics Association (NEWCHAA).

The Vikings are coming off a 4-20 season last year that ended in the opening round of the WIAA Tournament with a 65-38 loss. They lost three players to graduation last season, but they return leading scorer Kayin Jackson (12.8 ppg) and fellow seniors Marco Jauregui and Aaron Brey.

NEWCHAA graduate five players from last year's squad that went 9-1 in their limited slate. Carter Frisque is the team's top returner scorer with 16.0 ppg, but it is their defense the Vikings will have to be most wary of. In their 10 games last year, NEWCHAA allowed 40 points or less six times.

Tim Kowols will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening tip at 7 p.m.
