Vikings volleyball splits opening tournament

Luxemburg-Casco

Gibraltar girls volleyball opened their season with a tournament in Peshtigo Tuesday, facing four teams: Green Bay Southwest, Crivitz, Mercer, and Goodman-Pembine. They finished the day with a 2-2 record, narrowly losing their first two matches to Southwest (2-1) and Crivitz (2-0). They then finished strong, defeating Mercer (2-1) and dominating Goodman-Pembine (2-0), winning both sets by double digits, 25-14 and 25-15.

Overall, Gibraltar showed plenty of fight in the opening tournament and looks to continue to grow as a team behind the leadership of their three seniors. The Vikings’ next match is Friday, August 29, in a tournament where they will take on Wisconsin Heights, Central Wisconsin Christian, and Parkview beginning at 2:00 p.m.
