Gibraltar's defense was no match for Wabeno/Laona's offense as the Rebels built up a 44-0 lead en route to a 60-14 win in Fish Creek Friday night.
The pass-catch combination of quarterback Cooper Albrecht to Boone Vanooyen kept the Vikings on their heels for much of the opening 20 minutes, with Vanooyen adding on a punt return touchdown. The game had already entered a running clock when Sean Neal scored the first Vikings points of the 2025 season, scampering in from 60 yards out to make it 44-8. The Rebels matched the score right away with Walker Winkelman finding the Albrecht pass and ran it to the endzone to make a 52-8 game at the break.
Both teams scored once in the second half with Winkelman the beneficiary of a scoop score before Giovanni Mercier found Bairen Lhost from 40-plus yards out to cap the scoring.
The Vikings are back in action on Thursday against Florence. 105.1 The GOAT will carry the game live beginning at 6:45 p.m. followed by the kickoff at 7 p.m.
