Vikings boys tame Tigers, welcome Bulldogs Tuesday

The Gibraltar boys basketball team had four players reach double figures on the road Monday night as they rolled Gillett 72-50.

 

The Vikings carried a 32-27 lead into the locker room but hit shot after shot in the second half as they outscored the Tigers 40-23 after the break. The Vikings hit eight three-pointers in the game with Kayin Jackson hitting four of them. He would end the game with a team-high 24 points, with Liam Lindenberg adding 13 points with three three-pointers, Marco Jauregui with 12 points with a pair of threes, and 11 points for Aaron Brey. Jesse DeBauch was a one-man band for the Tigers, as he scored 38 points in the game and made 15 shots from the field. 

 

The Vikings return to action on Tuesday night to face a Peshtigo squad coming of a 75-57 loss to Kewaunee on Monday. Dominik Baxter leads the team with 24.2 ppg and 3.1 apg while Carter Roeder average approximately seven points and seven rebounds per game. Following last Friday's game at Oconto, head coach Travis Ward discussed the challenge ahead playing another one of the stars in the Packerland Conference.
