Viking boys burned by Blazers

Missing their leading scorer, Kayin Jackson, proved to be too much for the Gibraltar boys basketball team to overcome as they lost their Saturday matinee to NEW Lutheran 47-33.

The Vikings trailed the Blazers 26-10 at the break as they tried to navigate the Blazers' press defense set up by their coach Mark Meerstein. Liam Lindenberg hit three three-pointers after the break to try to get the Vikings into the game, but it would not be enough.

Lindenberg led the Vikings in Jackson's absence with 11 points. Wyatt Bultman, Marco Jauregui, Braden Kita, and Aaron Brey each added four points in the loss. Isaiah Faulknergy led the Blazers with 14 points with Reid Nelson and Grayson Herlache also reaching double figures.
