Vikings girls bit by Bulldogs

The Gibraltar girls basketball team kept things close in the first half, but made only three shots from the field in the second half of a 57-39 loss to Peshtigo Thursday night.

Mikala Gorham spent much of her night scoring from the free throw line, drilling six of her eight attempts en route to a team-high 11 points. Anna Jarosh and Megan Schar each hit three shots from the field as they tried their best to keep up with the fire power of Audra Bauman and Skylyn Baxter. The Bulldogs held a 32-28 lead at the break and outscored the Vikings 25-11 in the second half to seal the victory. Baxter had a game high 17 points while Bauman added another 15 points. In addition to Gorham's efforts, Schar scored a team-high 12 points while Jarosh's night ended with seven.
