Third quarter sinks Vikings vs. Maroons in road loss

The Gibraltar Vikings were outscored 17-2 in a decisive third quarter as they went north of the border in a 54-24 loss to Menominee (MI) Thursday night.

Head coach Travis Ward complimented the Maroons' defense and physical play that kept his team off kilter all night long, adding that he thinks they could make a run in the Michigan State Basketball Tournament. Braden Sitte was the lone Vikings player to reach double figures with 10 points. Aaron Brey added five points and Will Lecy contributed four more in the loss. The Maroons were led by Tanner Theuerkauf with 19 points and Conner Coduti with 12.
