Gibraltar honors Maltby, Sitte duo ahead of Sturgeon Bay matchup on 105.1 The GOAT

Gibraltar will honor its seniors and one of its longtime coaches, Kent Sitte, ahead of its matchup against Sturgeon Bay on Friday.

In their last game, strength, speed, and length were used against the Vikings as Southern Door led wire-to-wire in a 79-51 victory. Will Lecy, Liam Lindenberg, and Marshall Maltby hit their three-point shots to keep the game within single digits until midway through the half, when the game started to get away from them. Braden Sitte finally cracked the Eagles' code in the second half, finishing off the drives to the hoop with baskets or trips to the free throw line, where he was a perfect 8-8. Sitte ended his evening with 20 points, Maltby added 10 points, Lecy chipped in with nine, and Lindenberg poured in eight.  Head coach Travis Ward is hoping for a better result on Friday, especially since he was happy with how the team performed against the Clippers in their first meeting with Sitte or Maltby in the lineup.

Clippers prevailed over the Algoma Wolves Tuesday night, using a balanced attack to build a six-point lead at halftime before pulling away late for the win. Jackson Starr had a team-high 17 points for the Clippers, while Gannon Evers added ten more, and Danny Lodl chipped in ten. First-year head coach Zach Goblisch is happy to see how the team has come together this year after dealing with a COVID year and three different head coaches during their time at Sturgeon Bay.

Tim Kowols will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 7:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening tip at 7:30 p.m.
