Vikings girls earn comeback win vs. Clippers, travel to Elcho Saturday

Gibraltar survived its matchup against Sturgeon Bay with a 44-42 victory on the road.

The Vikings were down by one at the break to the Clippers, who weathered a storm of scoring from Dasha Yeltysheva. She scored 11 of her team-high 20 points in the first half, with two others pitching in at least four points in the frame.

McKailey Reisen helped lead the comeback with seven of her team-high 10 points after the break. Balanced scoring made it challenging for the Clippers as Mikala Gorham and Andie Schar each scored nine points, and Pam Prescott chipped in eight points in the victory. Yeltysheva was complemented by 10 points from Regan Kasten and eight points from Cady Carlson in the Clippers' loss.

The Vikings will head to Elcho before hosting Algoma on Monday for a broadcast on 105.1 The GOAT. Elcho has struggled to stay on the court, let alone win games. They have not won since November 20th and forfeited at least four games between the middle of December and January. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
