Vikings boys can't leash Bulldogs on 105.1 The Bulldogs

Early foul trouble and a hot shooting night by Peshtigo's Dominik Baxter sent the Gibraltar boys' basketball team to their ninth straight loss as they lost to the Bulldogs on the road 57-43 on Monday night.

Braden Sitte picked up two fouls in the opening minutes of the first half, sending him to the bench for the rest of the period, forcing head coach Travis Ward to rely on his younger players to handle the ball in his absence. The Bulldogs' Baxter and the Vikings' Liam Lindenberg went toe to toe early on as they scored the first 16 points. Baxter got his teammates involved offensively, and the Vikings had passes intercepted by Bulldogs defenders as Peshtigo entered their locker room up 29-12 at the break.

Sitte was able to finally get on the scoreboard in the second half, eventually leading the team in scoring with nine points as buckets continued to be tough for the Vikings to come by.

Baxter ended his night with 27 points while Will McMahon added nine points, seven of which came in the second half as he battled his own foul trouble. For the Vikings, Marshall Maltby scored seven points, and Will Lecy matched Lindenberg's six points in the loss.

The Vikings will return home on Thursday night to battle Sevastopol as both teams look to snap losing streaks. Tim Kowols will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT beginning at 7:15 p.m. followed by the opening tip at 7:30 p.m.
