Gibraltar faces staunch road test vs. Kewaunee on 105.1 The GOAT Friday

The Gibraltar Vikings girls' basketball team will try to get back into the win column against the Packerland Conference's best team on Friday when they travel to Kewaunee to take on the Storm.

The Vikings saw their four-game winning streak earlier in the week when Algoma beat them 47-38.  Mikala Gorham and Andie Schar each scored 10 points in the loss, with three others scoring at least four points. Schar is averaging 13.5 ppg, while Gorham is right behind her at 12.9 ppg. The four-game winning streak, extended by Gorham's buzzer-beating three-ball against at Peshtigo, is the program's longest since the 2019-2020 season that saw them fall to Gillett in the WIAA Regional Final.

The Storm enter the matchup 13-0 overall and 7-0 in the Packerland Conference, thanks to a staunch defense and four players averaging at least seven points a game, including 15.9 ppg by Jade Kroll and 10.9 ppg from Brianna Demmin. They have allowed 40 points or less nine times in their 13 wins while scoring more than 60 points six times.

In their previous matchup, the Storm's Kroll and the Vikings' Gorham each scored 18 points, but two other players reached double figures for Kewaunee as they won 62-39.

Tim Kowols will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.cm beginning at 7:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
