The Gibraltar boys' basketball hope Thursday is the night they can earn their first Packerland Conference win of the season when they welcome Peshtigo to Fish Creek.

The Vikings got to within four points twice in the second half but could not get any closer as they fell to the Oconto Blue Devils on Friday night 59-49. Braden Sitte scored 17 points, and Marshall Maltby added 13 points in the loss while Jeffrey Mize chipped in seven points. All three of their losses in the Packerland Conference, where they often play up a division or two in WIAA Tournament seeding, are by 10 points or more.

The Bulldogs are also 0-3 in the Packerland Conference season. In their last game, Dominik Baxter led the way with 16 points, while Silas Williams (11 points) and Will McMahon (10 points)  reached double figures in the 66-47 loss for the Bulldogs against Algoma. Baxter is the newest face on the team for the Bulldogs after his family was a staple for Oconto.
