Gibraltar girls edged by Crivitz

The Gibraltar girls' basketball team came up short in their bid for a second straight win on Monday night, falling to the visiting Crivitz Wolverines 55-52.

Lucy Gruszynski and Kiya Brand proved to be problems for the Vikings in the first half, scoring 19 of their combined 29 points. The combination of Andie Schar and Mikala Gorham was even more of a pest to the Wolverines, combining to score 23 points to put the Vikings ahead 35-26 at the break.

The Wolverines clamped down on the Vikings in the second half, allowing just 19 points after the break and drawing plenty of opportunities to get to the line. They shot 21 free throws in the frame, accounting for 12 points to lead the Wolverines to the three-point win.

Gruszynski led the Wolverines with 17 points, while Brand and Taryn Tracy each registered 12 points. Schar registered a game-high 18 points for the Vikings. Gorham collected 11 points while McKailey Reisen and Pam Prescott each scored six points in the loss.
