Gibraltar begins playoff run against Florence on 105.1 The GOAT

The Gibraltar Vikings kick off their second straight playoff experience on the road Friday night when they travel around the bay to take on the undefeated Florence Bobcats.

After trying to get a feel for their offense for six quarters of action following a season-ending injury to Brady Kita in their homecoming game against Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy, the Vikings finally caught stride against Sevastopol last week. Will Lecy, Braden Sitte, Giovanni Mercier, and Beckett Johnson took snaps at quarterback in their 52-22 rout of the Pioneers. Johnson threw for one score, while Sitte and Lecy each produced multiple touchdowns on the ground for the Vikings. In his pre-game interview, head coach Mike Peck said it was good to get a handle on their offense before heading into Friday's game against the Bobcats.

Speaking of the Bobcats, they enter the game undefeated on the season, outscoring the foes in the North Central Conference 203-58. The only game ever in doubt for the Bobcats was a 36-32 win over Three Lakes, which plays Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday night. With quarterback William Kelley and running back Logan Schuls leading the way, the Bobcats gained more than 1,500 yards on the grounds, three times more than they accumulated through the air.

Tim Kowols will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com  from Florence beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening kickoff at 7 p.m.
